Our Volunteer Programs

Driver Program

Need a ride?

Our volunteer drivers use their own vehicles to transport you to medical and personal appointments. Rides are Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.

Want to drive?

Our drivers receive mileage reim- bursement and can volunteer on a daily, weekly, or on-call basis.

Telephone Reassurance

We provide adults with disabilities or those who live alone with a daily call from our volunteers.

The program offers support and peace of mind for individuals as well as their families and friends, knowing that someone is checking in on their loved ones. Our volunteers call Monday through Friday.

Handcraft Program

Handcraft volunteers knit, sew, and crochet in groups or at home during their free time. Items created are donated to provide help to those in need within the community. Handcrafted goods include hats, mittens, quilts, wheelchair or walker bags, baby layettes, and much more.

Blue Wrap Program

2012 National Service Impact Award Winner

In collaboration with Gundersen Health System the Blue Wrap Program recycles blue sterile surgi- cal wrap by repurposing the material into patient care items. Volunteers make various bags for patients like personal belonging bags, educational material bags, wheelchair/walker bags, and breast cancer care bags.

Study Buddy

Study Buddies volunteer in area schools sharing at least one hour of their time per week helping students academically and socially. Volunteer assistance includes reading and math tutoring, either in small groups or individually.

Handyman Program

The Handyman program is designed to provide fix-it services and home repair for individuals in the community. Our volunteers donate their time and skills at no charge.

No job is too small! All that is required is for the individuals requesting the service to provide or pay for the materials. Limited funds are available for those unable to pay.
