Who Will be Smarter than a 5th Grader?

Absolutely Amazing….Totally Awesome….What a day it was! Thank you to everyone who helped to make the “2017 Who Will Be Smarter than Fifth Grader?” fundraising event the most successful of all, raising over $127,000. Simply Superb!!!

RSVP Smarter than a 5th Grader Fundraiser

On April 22nd, 16 Fabulous Fifth Graders and 16 Competitive Community Celebrities, joined forces at Valley View Mall to test their knowledge and battle for the championship. Competitive? Yes it was, as the sixteen teams answered fifth grade math, science, social studies, geography and yes, pop culture questions, until there were only three teams remaining going to the final round. Those three teams were Lucas Morrissey – Johnson Landscaping, and Scarlett Elder, from SOTA-1, Tom Brock –Altra Federal Credit Union, and Arthur Wu from Eagle Bluff Elementary, and Dr. Scott Rathgaber, CEO Gundersen Health System and Asher Mask from Harry Spence Elementary School.

After a grueling three rounds of questioning, congratulations go to the winning team of Dr. Scott Rathgaber and his fifth grader, Asher Mask. Dr. Rathgaber received lots of prizes including a $500.00 Travel Certificate, courtesy of Travel Leaders-Owned and Operated by Goli’s Avenues of Travel; Asher received a check for $1,000.00 for his school, and the fun thing is…he gets to choose how to spend it. Along with that, Asher got lots of cool prizes. In addition to being the grand champions, Dr. Rathgaber was also the People’s Choice Award winner, raising the most amount of money for any contestant, $12,276. Congratulations Dr. Rathgaber and Asher.
